'Real Madrid should consider selling Hazard': Ex-Premier League striker Berbatov

Berbatov says he wouldn't be surprised if Hazard left Real Madrid already this summer. Eden is unable to revive his career at the moment, Dimitar Berbatov insists.

"Real Madrid should consider selling Hazard. He has had a lot of injuries since he arrived in Spain, and that has prevented him from showing the brilliant football that he played at Chelsea," Dimitar Berbatov writes for his Betfair column.

"If it was something occasional then it would be a different matter, but the fact is that the player is injured again and again and again. That is a sign that there is another problem that is affecting him.

"Will he be able to regain the form he had and show that the money Real Madrid invested in his was the right decision? Right now, the answer is no.

"It's true that Hazard has only just turned 30 and still has a lot of time to contribute a lot, but this question is one which needs to be asked. Hazard has yet to prove anything in Madrid, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he left in the summer," the Bulgarian concluded.

On Wednesday, Real Madrid confirmed that the Belgian would miss from 4 to 6 weeks with a new muscle injury. It's Hazard's 10th injury in just 18 months - he missed 7 weeks through a similar muscle injury suffered in late November.
