Stoke City vs Sheffield Wednesday Preview and Prediction 2021

Stoke City vs Sheffield Wednesday predictions for Tuesday night’s Championship action at the bet365 Stadium. Sheffield Wednesday will fancy their chances in midweek with the hosts winless in nine league games. Read on for our free Championship predictions and betting tips.

Stoke are without a win in nine league games (D6, L3) following their 4-1 thumping at Norwich on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday have won three of their last four Championship matches (L1).

The visitors will be the fresher of the two sides here after their scheduled weekend clash against Swansea was postponed.

Owls to Pinch the Points

Struggling Stoke were given a pasting by Norwich City on Saturday afternoon and the Potters could be undone again this week by a Sheffield Wednesday side who have won three of their last four Championship matches.

After challenging around the play-off spots earlier in the campaign, Stoke’s season has seriously gone south over the past two months and the Potters have slipped to 10th following a dismal run of nine games without a win (D6, L3).

Michael O’Neill’s have only tasted victory just once since 5th December and they make zero appeal for this Tuesday’s contest at around evens.

Wednesday’s overall record on the road this term is poor to say the least with nine defeats suffered in 14 outings, but the Owls have been in decent nick overall of late with three wins bagged from their last four games.

That mini run has lifted Neil Thompson’s side to within touching distance of the safety line and they’ll fancy their chances of landing another crucial three points at the bet365 Stadium.

The visitors will also be much the fresher outfit after their scheduled Saturday clash at Swansea was postponed due to a frozen pitch, so we think the Owls are worth supporting this Tuesday night for small stakes.

The goals are unlikely to flow with just 25% Wednesday’s games this term producing over 2.5, so we’re also tipping up a 0-1 correct score in favour of the South Yorkshire side.
