Super Eagles star nets second goal of the season

Fulham continued their push to escape relegation from the English premier league with a hard earned 1-1 draw against Burnley and it was Super Eagles utility defender Ola Aina that got the important away goal.

The Cottagers entered the game in high spirits having shocked Everton 2-0 during the Match-Day 23 fixtures but Turf Moor was a difficult ground, considering the home side was in top form after beating Crystal Palace 3-0 at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Aina who featured as right back for most parts of the season was deployed by manager Scott Parker as a left back against the Clarets and he repaid the faith of the Coach with a goal. He threw himself at Ademola Lookman’s corner and the ball flicked off his chest before resting at the back of the net despite the best attempt by Robbie Brady to clear his efforts. The goal was Aina’s second goal for the season.

However, the second half lead didn’t last long as Ashley Barnes converted a pass from Jay Rodriguez to level matters within three minutes of Fulham taking the lead but there were no more goals scored as it finished 1-1. Tosin Adarabioyo, Ademola Lookman and Josh Maja all played for 90 minutes for Fulham.

Fulham remain in the relegation zone in 18th with 19 points while Burnley sit 15th with 27 points.
