Trincao and Messi forming new Koeman's partnership duo

Trincao and Lionel Messi are clicking into gear at Barcelona. The pair are linking up nicely and are helping the Catalan club in their best run of the season.

The Portuguese has three goals in his last two LaLiga Santander appearances, against Real Betis and Alaves, while the Argentine has scored in each of his last five, totalling eight goals in those games.

Each of Trincao's three goals have been important. He had been showing some signs of settling in at the Camp Nou even before his goal at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, but he's now showing the best version of himself that Barcelona have seen since his arrival.

He opened the scoring at the Camp Nou on Sunday and then grabbed the Blaugrana's third when they needed it most.

Trincao's good performances have increased the pressure on Ousmane Dembele, who had nobody competing for his place in the team. Now, though, Ronald Koeman has a decision to make when naming his XI.

Messi is going for the Pichichi

The Argentine is closing in on Luis Suarez at the top of the Pichichi charts. The Uruguayan is already on 16 goals and Messi's double on Saturday put him onto 15.

His streak started against Athletic Club on January 6 and he hasn't stopped scoring since.
