Victor Font on Messi Barca exit saga: 'The world will not end if Messi leaves Barca'

Leo is an important asset for the club but Barca shouldn't be afraid of losing him, the presidential candidate says.

Messi generates more income than he earns.

The bigger problem is the salaries of all players at the club, Font explains.

"Messi is an important asset for Barca, but if he leaves the club, the world will not end," Barcelona's presidential candidate Victor Font has told Onda Cero.

When asked about Messi's leaked contract details, Font replied: "Messi generates that figure and even more; saying that Barca are ruined by Messi is a completely wrong conclusion. The problem is the salaries of all the players at the club."

Font has basically confirmed the recent financial study claiming that Leo generates more income for Barca than what he actually costs the club.

Interestingly, Victor Font has always said that one of his priority tasks as a potential president is signing a new deal with Messi.
