amaju pinnick biography

Amaju is one of the best Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President the country has produced in recent times.

Amaju Pinnick Biography

Amaju Pinnick birthday is on the 1st of December 1970 which puts his current age at 50 years old.

And like some of us, the Itsekiri man came from a polygamous family of nineteen children and two are deceased.

His father was the late Chief Oritsetimeyin Japhet Pinnick and his mother is Madam Rebecca Ayomike. Amaju is the last child from his mother’s side. He was barely 12 years when his dad passed on.

Amaju is married to Julie Pinnick and together they have four children which I will speak about later.

Pinnick’s education began in Warri where he attended Hussey College before proceeding to obtained his BSc in Political science and Public administration from the University of Benin in 1994.

That he is the president of the NFF doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a regular job, Pinnick is a Businessman.

Pinnick’s Journey to the Glass House

Amaju didn’t just leave his business and went straight to pick the ticket to contest as NFF president, no, he started by being first the chair of the Delta Sports Commission in 2010.

And then subsequently, he was appointed chair of Delta State Football Association in 2011. It wasn’t until September 30th 2014 that he got elected as NFF President.

And then trouble ensued as a Federal High Court sitting in Plateau State invalidated that 2014 NFF Presidential election on April 8th 2016.

His opponent at the time Chris Giwa was the one who had petitioned the court over the result declaring Amaju winner.

The court eventually ruled and Giwa was announced the legitimate winner of the election.

It was as if trouble had just begun as FIFA wrote NFF on April 11 2016 asking the court not to interfere with matters of the NFF and threatened a FIFA ban if the ruling was not overturned.

Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan had to appeal to Giwa to step-down for Pinnick to continue as NFF President.

Problem solved.

Hope you’re not thinking it was from all that troubled times that Pinnick sustained his facial injuries?

This is what actually happened to Pinnick’s face.

It was during a St. Valentine’s Day party that he hosted for couples in 2011.

A firework (what we call banger or knockout in our local parlance) exploded in his face at his residence in Warri, Delta State.

Though it was a minor domestic accident, it affected his cheekbones and eardrums.

It took 14 surgeries to fix in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Shell Nigeria Area, Ogunu, Warri, for 10 days.

That’s that about that.

And like I already mentioned, Pinnick was re-elected for another four-year term in office in the NFF Elective Congress in Katsina on September 20th 2018.

Glad to let you know that Amaju didn’t stay local only, he went international and got appointed member of the organizing committee for FIFA competitions on January 19th 2017.

Not just that, he was also elected into the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee in 2017.

He was afterwards appointed President of AFCON and became the First Vice President of the Confederation of African Football the following year.

Constant Omari has since replaced him as successor.

Julie Pinnick

“It was love at first sight” – or so Amaju said.

Pinnick spotted his wife, who is from Ngwa, Abia State, for the first time at a wedding ceremony they’d both attended.

But nothing happened.

He later ran into her in the company of her siblings at a club that same day.

And immediately, our able sharp guy approached madam and made his intention known to her.

And that was the beginning.

They fell in love and now have four kids and the rest is history.

Julie Pinnick was born on the 5th of March 1985. She is the MD/CEO of J Cleaning Services. She’s also the MD of Brownhill Investments, which are majorly into show business.

Also, Julie is the Co-convener of Warri Again Concerts.

I have seen a lot of people asking for Amaju Pinnick phone number online.

C’mon, you really think the dude will put out his phone number in public space?

Amaju Pinnick Net Worth And Salary

Why Pinnick salary has been shrouded in secrecy like Nigeria’s National Assembly members just beats me.

Even the salary of President Muhammadu Buhari’s salary is in public domain.

Is the NFF saying Amaju is no longer a public servant whose salary and other earnings should be made public?

Anyway, his net worth from different sources shows that he is worth $1 Million – $5 Million.
