Barca B is a good way for Xavi to start at Barca': Toni Freixa

Guardiola had been coaching the B side for one season prior to his appointment at the senior team.

Xavi could emulate Pep's path if Freixa wins the election, according to the presidential hopeful.

"Just as Guardiola was coach of the B side, and later he was great with the first team. Barca B is a good way for Xavi to start at Barca," Toni Freixa has said in an interview with Cat Radio.

As things stand now, Freixa and his presidential opponents Joan Laporta and Victor Font are ready to keep Ronald Koeman at the helm of Barcelona beyond the summer.

Font, however, wants to appoint Xavi Hernandez as the club's general manager if he wins the election. On the other hand, the current Al Sadd boss is 'only interested in coaching the first team', according to Freixa.

Laporta, meanwhile, believes that the ex-Barca captain isn't yet ready to coach the Catalans yet.
