Barca Defender Oscar Mingueza: 'Pique has been my role model ever since I arrived'

Mingueza has found a mentor in Gerard Pique at Barcelona and The defender sees Pique as Barca legend.

He also identifies Araujo as another Barca defender with leadership qualities.

"Pique has been my role model ever since I arrived. I love his elegance, his way of playing with the ball, his leadership. I think he is one of the best centre-backs in history," Mingueza told Marca.

On Araujo, the 21-year-old Spaniard said: "I like his physique and his leadership. He has improved a lot with the ball. When he arrived, he said that he used to be lost at times, but he has improved now."

Ironically, the injury problem with Miguenza's idol Pique has seen the youngster make 19 league appearances for Barca. Besides scoring a goal and making an assist, he's also helped the Blaugrana keep 8 clean sheets in La Liga this term.
