Barcelona boss Koeman reveal Pique avoided injury relapse against Sevilla

The severity of the 34-year-old's latest injury will be assessed later on Thursday.

"Pique? It's not the same injury as his previous one, we don't know if it's serious. We have to wait for tomorrow," Ronald Koeman told the post-Sevilla presser.

Barcelona defeated the Andalusians 3-0 at Camp Nou on Wednesday with Gerard Pique scoring his side's second goal.

As per reliable Alfredo Martinez of Onda Cero, Pique underwent an MRI scan on his knee after the game that ruled out a ligament rupture.

The 34-year-old returned to action last month after spending three months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Ousmane Dembele also suffered a calf problem against Sevilla but its severity remains to be unknown for now.
