Borussia Dortmund vs Sevilla Preview and Prediction 2021

Borussia Dortmund vs Sevilla predictions for Tuesday’s Champions League tie in Germany. Sevilla look to end their losing run and come back from a first leg deficit in Dortmund. Read on for all our free Champions League predictions and betting tips.

Borussia Dortmund have won four of their last five competitive matches.

Sevilla have lost four of their last five competitive games.

Sevilla have conceded 2.0 goals per game on average over this period.

Borussia Dortmund have just three clean sheets in their last 13 matches.

Dortmund hit their stride

It’s no secret that Borussia Dortmund have endured a difficult season this year but the Bundesliga giants found their feet at the perfect time last month and head into this second leg with a 3-2 aggregate lead over Sevilla.

Boy wonder Erling Haaland was the driving force behind Dortmund’s thrilling win over Sevilla as he netted a brace, taking his tally to eight Champions League goals for the season. The youngster has since scored four goals in four appearances and he’ll once again be the centre of attention at Signal-Iduna Park.

He scored twice at Bayern Munich on Saturday only for Bayern’s own goal machine Robert Lewandowski to hit back with a hat-trick in a 4-2 comeback win, but despite that Der Klassiker disappointment there’s no doubt that Dortmund are looking more like their former selves right now. They have won four of their last five games in all competitions, scoring 13 goals in the process.

Sevilla drop off the boil

Sevilla’s fortunes have take the opposite turn. The Spaniards headed into the first leg on the back of a nine match winning streak but they have seen their form implode since Haaland tore them apart.

They have lost four of their last five games, falling to a shock 2-1 loss at relegation-threatened Elche on Saturday after consecutive defeats to Barcelona.

Hosts set to seal the win

Borussia Dortmund will be keen to bounce back from their Der Klassiker collapse and given Haaland’s penchant for Champions League goals it’s hard to see Sevilla staging a comeback here. We expect the hosts to extend their aggregate lead and a Dortmund win looks good value.

Sevilla have conceded an average of two goals per game over their last five matches and, with Dortmund only managing three clean sheets in their last 13 games, a 2-1 correct score prediction also appeals.
