England vs Poland predictions for Wednesday’s World Cup qualification contest at Wembley Stadium. Can England make it three wins from three in Group I? Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Poland have scored at least once in 11 of their last 14 matches.

England have won 12 of their last 13 home assignments.

Both teams have scored in two of Poland’s last three games.

Poland have won only one of their last four contests.

England’s perfect start

With two wins, seven goals and a pair of clean sheets from their first brace of Group I fixtures, England have started their World Cup qualification campaign with a bang, though a date with a strong Poland team will provide their stiffest test so far.

Victories over San Marino and Albania proved predictably routine for the Three Lions, however, Poland are expected to rival England for top spot in the section, and Wednesday’s fixture is a chance for both teams to lay down a marker.

With his squad looking strong, Gareth Southgate has personnel decisions to make in a number of areas this week, though the crux of the XI that performed so professionally in Tirana are expected to be deployed again.

Poland’s attacking threat

Poland’s haul of four points from two games is just shy of England’s total, though Paulo Sousa’s side have definitely brought their shooting boots to Group I, notching three times in each of their fixtures against Hungary and Andorra respectively.

With a trio of goals to his name, the evergreen Robert Lewandowski was central to their success in the final third, though the Bayern Munich marksman will miss Wednesday’s game through injury.

Both teams to score at Wembley?

England’s clash with Poland had been billed as a duel between superstar strikers Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski, and though the latter’s absence will be hard felt by the visitors, they still have enough in their armoury to threaten their hosts.

Italy (twice) and the Netherlands were the only nations to keep Poland off the scoresheet in their last 14 fixtures, and The Eagles look capable of landing a blow at the home of football, even without their talismanic centre-forward.

Lewandowski’s fitness issues should hand England the edge in terms of the result at Wembley however, and with a superb run of 12 wins from their last 13 home games behind them, our 2-1 correct score prediction tips the Three Lions to cement their place at the top of Group I with another victory.
