Hazard might undergo SURGERY in coming weeks set to miss the Euros

Eden Hazard's miserable luck with injuries looks set to continue after it was revealed that the Real Madrid superstar is facing surgery in a bid to fix his left ankle.

The former Chelsea star, who moved to the Bernabeu for £88m in 2019, has now suffered eight injuries during a disastrous start to life in Spain.

Marca now report that Hazard could go under the knife in the coming weeks in an attempt to fix his problems once and for all, but that could mean him missing the entirety of the season as well as this summer's rescheduled Euros with Belgium.

His latest comeback appearance ended after just 15 minutes against Elche at the weekend, with a 'muscular problem' cited by the club after the match.

It has been claimed that Hazard is so fed up with his constant problems that surgery is now seen as a viable option to permanently rid himself of the ankle issues he has been experiencing.

Hazard has reportedly not felt comfortable at all since he last underwent surgery, with persistent pains in his ankle when he runs.

He last underwent surgery in Dallas in March 2020 after suffering a serious injury the previous November against PSG, and it now appears a year on he could go back under the knife once more.

Incredibly, the Belgian has missed 57 per cent of Real Madrid's matches since he joined the club, 48 of 84 matches, with that number only set to increase in the coming weeks and months.

This latest news comes as a huge blow to Zinedine Zidane, who was hoping to be able to count on Hazard to help his side in a vital period of the season.

Real are six points off a stumbling Atletico Madrid in the LaLiga title race, and are closing in on a place in the Champions League last eight as they head into their last-16 second leg against Atalanta tonight with a 1-0 lead.
