Sergio Ramos' absence against Georgia was Luis Enrique's decision

The absence of Sergio Ramos from Spain's hard fought 2-1 victory over Georgia on Sunday was not due to injury.

After the match, coach Luis Enrique admitted that it was his decision and he sticks by it.

"Sergio is in perfect condition and [his absence] was a technical decision," Luis Enrique explained in the press room after the match.

"I know that whatever I do is going to generate controversy, [whether Ramos played] five [minutes], ninety minutes or none.

"I'm used to it now, nothing surprises me. I'm ready for the debate," he said.
