Sergio Ramos was taken off to manage his minutes

Sergio Ramos had a funny first half against Greece on Thursday.

The Spain captain never looked comfortable, misplaced six of his 12 attempted passes, and he didn't return after the break.

His operated knee remains under surveillance, but it wasn't the reason for his substitution. Luis Enrique simply wanted to manage the defender's minutes, and the hope is for him to play in each of Spain's games during this set of internationals.

Ramos had only played in Real Madrid's matches against Elche and Atalanta after returning from injury.
