Alexander-Arnold and Keita racially abused after Real Madrid defeat

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita were racially abused after Liverpool's Champions League first-leg defeat at Real Madrid on Tuesday night.

The pair were sent monkey emojis amongst other racist abuse in the latest case of professional footballers suffering racist abuse online.

Liverpool have released a statement strongly condemning the abuse, as they declared that this cannot continue.

"LFC condemns all forms of discrimination," the club's statement read.

"The current situation cannot be allowed to continue and it is incumbent on all of us to ensure that it does not.

"We will offer our players all the support that they need."
