Barcelona defender Pique: 'We're happy with Laporta, it's like doing a reset'

Gerard Pique has express his happiness toward the club president and club after defeating Bilbao to lift Barca first trophy of the season.

"Today is an example of how the team is playing. I am very happy, for the veterans, but also for the youngsters, who have shown that they can play. 

Very happy also for the new board of directors, with Joan Laporta, who has entered with great enthusiasm," Gerard Pique said after the Copa del Rey win.

"It's like doing a 'reset'. Now we have to go on and go for the League, to end the season with the League and the Cup, I think it wouldn't be bad at all.

"It may not be the most important competition, but in difficult moments, these victories reinforce a lot. Koeman arrived at a difficult moment, and part of the credit is his. I am very happy for him and all the technical staff."

As per previous reports, Pique took injections in order to be able to play the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao.

 Although it was a risk, the coach was proven right to play the veteran centre-back, as Gerard delivered an almost-perfect performance.
