Barcelona possibles line up against Athletic Bilbao after El Clasico loss

Barcelona suffered two defeats at the hands of Real Madrid in the 2020/21 season with the latest 2-1 loss taking place at the Alfredo Di Stefano over the weekend.

Next up for the Catalans come the Spanish Cup final against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is all but confirmed starter for the upcoming clash with the Basques while there could be a few changes to Barca's defensive line in Seville.

Oscar Mingueza, Ronald Araujo and Clement Lenglet all started in the heart of Barca's back-three against Madrid so we wouldn't be surprised if they feature against Athletic. On the other hand, Gerard Pique appears to be close to overcoming his knee problem and thus the 34-year-old could make the starting XI at the expense of either Mingueza or Araujo.

As for the full-backs, both Jordi Alba and Sergino Dest looked absolutely awful against Madrid. With Sergi Roberto up and running again, we don't see Dest starting against Athletic while even below-par Alba is still a better option than Junior Firpo.

As Antoine Griezmann was dropped to the bench in El Clasico, we do expect the Frenchman to return to the starting XI on the weekend, especially after Pedri's poor performance against Zinedine Zidane's side.
