furious Schalke fans chase players down the street after relegation
Lose a game, relegate from the top tier - can things get any worse? Sure they can!
A video of a 'warm welcome' Schalke fans prepared for their players after they relegated from the Bundesliga, is going viral on social media right now.
The squad got back to Gelsenkirchen after the 1-0 defeat at Arminia Bielefeld and probably didn't expect things to get any worse but they were wrong.
On arrival, Schalke players were confronted and chased by a group of Ultras - and this is pure and absolute madness:
“Uth, you son of a bitch!”

Schalke players were confronted and chased by some of their Ultras last night when they arrived back in Gelsenkirchen. Came after their first relegation since 1988 was confirmed last night.

Schalke have four games left to play but with just 13 points gained from the previous 30 Bundesliga matches (2 wins, 7 draws and 21 losses) there is no other way for them but all the way down to the Bundesliga 2.
Schalke have known tough times before but this is their first relegation since 1988. So, although fans' actions cannot be justified, their feelings are easy to understand.
