Gravina confirms new rule against breakaway Leagues

The FIGC President Gabriele Gravina confirmed ‘a rule must be included in the national reform’ after the attempted Super League breakaway.

The Federal Council discussed new provisions to exclude teams that reject competitions from the UEFA and FIFA from Serie A.

Gravina confirmed the FIGC will include the new rule, that should be in place from the end of June.

“Those who plan to participate in competitions outside of FIFA or UEFA lose affiliation and must leave our championship,” Gravina told SportItalia.

“We have no news on who have left and who haven’t, there’s a rule that must now be included in the national reform.

“If, at the end of June, someone participate in competitions of a private nature, they must leave our League.”
