Jorginho's criticism of Lampard: He was a club legend and skipped some steps

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has given an honest take on his former boss Frank Lampard, stating that the English coach may have taken the job at the Blues too soon.

Lampard left in January to be replaced by Thomas Tuchel, after a record of 1.67 points per game, the worst return of any Chelsea coach in the Roman Abramovich era.

"Look, I'll be really sincere here on Lampard," Jorginho said as he discussed the Englishman on ESPN.

"I believe, given he was a legend at the club, he skipped some steps necessary for learning before moving to a big club.

"He came to a club where he is a legend, without having experience at other clubs.

"I think he came too soon, skipped a few steps ahead and wasn't ready for a job at this level, to be honest."
