Laporta set to announce Koeman's stay as Barca coach in coming days

Joan Laporta could announce that Ronald Koeman will continue as Barcelona's coach for the next season in the coming days, Diario Sport's reliable Lluis Miguelsanz reports.

It's said that the recent Copa del Rey triumph definitively convinced the president that the Dutchman should be the coach heading the new project at Camp Nou.

It's also said that Koeman has had Laporta's confidence for a long time now, but he was waiting for the season to enter its final stage before making a decision. Evidence of this is the fact that the coach has been working together with the technical staff on planning the squad for the next season for a few weeks now.

As for the boss himself, he has one more year left on his contract and seems to be determined to continue at Barca, as he revealed in previous interviews.

For now, not talks are planned regarding a possible contract extension.
