Opportunity for Foxes

Saturday went pretty well for Leicester, who saw fourth-placed West Ham lose to Chelsea and Liverpool drop points at home to Newcastle. The Foxes are now four points clear of fifth and a point ahead of fourth with Monday’s game still to play.

This clash with Crystal Palace is a great chance for Leicester to boost their Champions League hopes. They could hold a strong cushion over fourth going into the final five matches of the campaign. Can they get the job done against the Eagles?

Palace on the beach

Crystal Palace were thumped 4-1 by Chelsea in their last match, with the Eagles looking done for the season. The visitors are 11 points clear of the drop and they have little left to play for, while uncertainty hangs over the club. Roy Hodgson’s contract is up in the summer, along with some of his biggest stars.

Palace have won once in their last six and the Eagles have a terrible away record this term. They’ve won once away to the sides above them (D3 L6). Each of those losses came by a margin of two goals or more.

Leicester to cruise to victory

The Foxes have the third-best attacking record in the division this season, so an unfocused Palace side could be in for a tough night. The Foxes have won by at least two goals in seven of their eight home wins, so we expect them to cover a -1 handicap here.

Crystal Palace have lost by two or more in 10 of their 13 league defeats this season and they meet a Leicester side who have won 3-0 against West Brom and 5-0 against Sheffield United in recent league outings. Following that good form, we’re backing Leicester -1 alongside a 3-0 correct score prediction.
