Lewandowski remain top in Ballon d'Or power rankings, Mbappe behind him

Despite his injuries, Robert Lewandowski stays in pole position in the rankings for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

The Pole is just about returning from his knee injury with Bayern potentially facing a quarter-finals exit at the hands of PSG in the Champions League.

Kylian Mbappe, who is responsible for that with his brace against the current holders, has moved up into 2nd spot in the rankings over Lionel Messi.

Lionel Messi couldn't stop his side from succumbing to a 2-1 defeat in the El Clasico against bitter rivals Real Madrid.

Karim Benzema, who was instrumental in Real's 3-1 win over Liverpool and scored against Barcelona, has also moved up a few spots.

Chelsea don't have a player that is in contention for the award so far but Mason Mount has started 2021 in brilliant form and could put himself in contention as the year goes on.
