List of injured and sanctioned players ahead of Real Madrid - Liverpool

Real Madrid welcome Liverpool to Valdebebas for Tuesday night's first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final stage.

Both Real Madrid and Liverpool come into this quarter-final clash in a decent run of form. Zidane's men moved to second place in LaLiga on Saturday with a comfortable 2-0 over relegation threatened Eibar and later on the same day, Jurgen Klopp's side secured an impressive 0-3 away win over Arsenal in North London with the reigning Premier League champions just two points behind Chelsea in fourth position.

Liverpool will train at their Melwood complex on Monday at 13:00 CEST before flying to the Spanish capital and will decline to train at the Alfredo di Stefano stadium before Jurgen Klopp addresses the media in the protocol UEFA press conference.

Liverpool injury concerns

The 'Reds' will fly to Spain without captain Jordan Henderson with a groin injury sustained in February ruling the player out with a slight hope that the England international may be ready for the return leg at Anfield.

Virgil van Dijk may be ready to pull on the red shirt again should Liverpool progress to the latter stages of the competition with 1 May the scheduled date for the Dutch defenders return to action after a cruciate break sustained in the Merseyside derby in October 2020.

Both Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are long term absentees for Jurgen Klopp and not expected to play again this season although the club are optimistic that Divock Origi will make the squad after his muscular issues that also ruled him out of Saturday's game away to Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp has no suspended players ahead of the clash against 'Los Blancos'.

Zidane's injury worries

There was good news on the injury front for Zinedine Zidane on Monday morning as both Eden Hazard and Fede Valverde retunrd to group training ahead of Tuesday's quarter-final clash.

Despite this positive news, Madrid must make-do without club captain Sergio Ramos who has been ruled out of both home and away legs with a calf issue sustained on recent international duty with Spain.

Dani Carvajal is still fighting his way back to full fitness after his muscle tear in February's LaLiga game at home to Valencia.

As is the case with Jurgen Klopp, Real Madrid have no player absent via suspension.
