Man City Emerge No.1 In Premier League’s Highest Wage Bill Table

Manchester City are in top spot on Premier League’s highest wage bill table, followed by Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Reds spent a colossal £325million on salaries during the 2019/20 season – a figure which is believed to be heavily bonus related in a year which saw Jurgen Klopp’s men claim their first top-flight title since 1990.

The figure represents a 4.8% increase on their 2018/19 wage bill of £310million and a remarkable 23.6% rise on the 2017/18 total of £263million.

Those numbers mean Liverpool now have the Premier League’s second-highest wage bill, putting them ahead of arch-rivals United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men aren’t lagging too far behind after paying out £284million to players during the 2019/20 campaign.

They’re just ahead of Chelsea, who shelled out £283million on salaries during the same period.

But it’s Manchester City who quite literally top the bill with their colossal wage payments totalling £351million last season – a Premier League record.
