Metz vs Lille Preview and Prediction 2021

Metz vs Lille predictions for Friday’s Ligue 1 encounter at Stade Saint Symphorien. The league leaders should oblige here at odds-on to extend their advantage at the top of the table. Read on for our free Ligue 1 predictions and betting tips.

Lille have lost just one of their 15 away trips this season, winning ten.

Les Dogues beat PSG 0-1 last time out to displace the champions at the top of the table.

Metz have claimed just one point from their last four Ligue 1 starts and we’re soundly beaten 4-0 by Monaco last weekend.

Leaders to go six clear at Stade Saint Symphorien

Lille can really turn the screw on the chasing pack when they take on Metz this Friday evening and we’re backing Christophe Galtier’s men to oblige at odds-on.

Jonathan David’s tenth goal of the campaign proved enough last weekend as Lille fought off PSG 0-1 at Parc Des Princes and Les Dogues are now in control of the title race with just seven games of the season remaining.

Lille can temporarily move six points clear with a victory at Stade Saint Symphorien here and there’s no reason to believe that their quest for a fourth French crown is going to let up.

Galtier’s side have lost just once from 15 starts on the road this term, winning ten, while they overcame their opponents 1-0 in September’s reverse fixture at Stade Pierre Mauroy.

They face a Metz side who were hammered 4-0 by title rivals Monaco last weekend and Les Grenats have picked up just one point from their last four league outings. The hosts performed better in midweek to push Les Monegasques to penalties in the Coupe De France, though that means they’re likely to fall well short here in terms of freshness as well as quality.

Lille are priced up as you would expect for this contest at around 4/6, but we think that’s a solid wager. We’re keen to play it straight by supporting the visitors and we’re also tipping up a 0-2 score-line.
