Mikel Arteta reveals what Stan Kroenke told him after Super League backlash

Arteta has spoken to the Kroenkes and he's confirmed that the owners have apologised and they wanted me to pass on the message to the players, he adds.

When asked if Stan Kroenke apologised for the European Super League fiasco, Mikel Arteta said in the pre-match press conference: "Yes, absolutely.

"Obviously they have the maximum responsibility of running the football club and this is what they said. They apologised for disturbing the team, not having the capacity or ability to communicate in a different way earlier and explain the reasons why.

"They wanted me to pass on the message to the players. That's all you can ask for. The way they've done it, I have to accept it completely."

The Arsenal boss continued: "I had some communication from them as well. I spoke with them yesterday and those communications were in the same terms.

"As always, every time we need something and every time something is happening, they are straight away ready to act, to give the answers they can do, to give us the support they can do. They've done it again."

Stan Kroenke was one of the driving forces behind the Super League but it looks like the project is far from over just yet. The upcoming few weeks will be crucial to understand what the future could be like for football.
