OFFICIAL: Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos tests positive for COVID-19

The centre-back becomes the second Los Blanco to return a positive test inside the last week, after Raphael Varane.

Sergio Ramos tested positive for COVID-19, the official website has confirmed.

The defender will now undergo a period of self-isolation - although it will be made somewhat easier by the fact he's currently out injured.

Last week Raphael Varane tested positive for COVID-19 too and was forced to quarantine: as a result he's missed both the Liverpool game and El Clasico. The Frenchman will miss the return CL leg too.

Ramos won't be missing any games due to COVID but rather because he's suffered a calf injury while away on international duty last month. He'll be recovering from it for further 2 weeks at least.
