RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich Preview and Prediction 2021

RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich predictions for Saturday’s heavyweight clash in German Bundesliga. Can RB Leipzig move to within one point of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title race? Read on for our free betting tips and match preview.

Leipzig have won ten of their 13 home league games this season

Bayern are without star striker Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 35 of their 78 league goals

Bayern have conceded 35 goals in 26 league matches

Leipzig can enhance their title hopes

Bayern Munich haven’t yet shrugged off the challenge of Leipzig in the Bundesliga title race and their advantage may be dwindled down to just a point with defeat at the Red Bull Arena.

Bayern have won their last six games in all competitions but they haven’t been entirely convincing and now they must go into battle minus their prolific Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who has netted 35 of their 78 league goals.

Lewandowski has been ruled out for month following a knee injury sustained on international duty, so Bayern won’t be able to rely on him to bail them out for their defensive flaws.

Hansi Flick’s side have leaked 35 goals across their 26 league games, managing only one clean sheet in six outings, and their high-defensive line can often get them into unnecessary trouble.

It was a 3-3 thriller at the Allianz Arena when these two squared-up in December and Leipzig should be full of confidence having claimed maximum points from seven of their last eight league tussles.

Home is also where the heart is for Leipzig, who have won ten and drawn two of their 13 league matches on own turf, keeping six clean sheets in the process.

All three of Bayern’s league defeats this season have come on their travels – on trips to Hoffenheim, Borussia Monchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt – and they have won on only one of their last four visits to the Red Bull Arena.

We are predicting Leipzig to spring a minor surprise and correct-score punters should opt for a 2-1 win. Six of RB’s ten home league wins have came by a single goal, three of which ended that scoreline.
