Real Madrid midfielder Modric's 1-year extension will be made official soon, with reduced salary

Luka Modric's set to sign on for a further year at Real Madrid which will take his time in the capital to 10 years, AS has confirmed.

The player has even accepted a wage reduction to help out the club at a financially challenging time. His main desire has always been to stay with Los Blancos.

The Croatian's extension will take his tenure in Madrid to 10 years - and he'll be 36 by the time his deal runs out.

Modric has been vital to Real Madrid's midfield this season, missing just one game across all competitions and notching over 3000 minutes already. After his recent performance vs Atalanta Luka said he's feeling much younger than he is.
