Ryan Mason: Harry Kane miss Tottenham training today ahead of Carabao Cup final

Tottenham have been dealt a blow in their preparations ahead of the Carabao Cup final after boss Ryan Mason revealed Harry Kane did not partake in training on Friday.

The 27-year-old suffered an ankle injury in the draw against Everton last week and missed Spurs' 2-1 win against Southampton on Wednesday.

Speaking after the game, Mason revealed he was hopeful the club's star striker would be able to feature against Manchester City at Wembley, and Sportsmail revealed he did train on Thursday.

But speaking in his press conference ahead of Sunday's showdown, the Spurs head coach revealed Kane had yet to re-join full training.

Asked if Kane could feature, Mason said: 'We're not sure yet. He didn't train with the team today but we'll know more tomorrow.

'Harry is a top professional. We're taking it hour by hour and see how it goes. We're not going, and Harry's not going to, put his body on the line. It will be a combined decision.'

'It was different for the Champions League final, he was out a long time beforehand. This would be a quick turnaround and we'll have to assess him tomorrow.'
