Super League drama: Klopp reacts to claims of his resignation

The Liverpool boss was an outspoken Super League critic for several years.

Now, however, he feels responsible for the team and for the relationship with the fans.

This means that he'll stay in the job and will 'try to sort it out somehow', he says.

"I’m here as a football coach and a manager, and I will do that long as people will let me do that," Jurgen Klopp told a press conference after the Leeds game when asked about his future as the Liverpool manager.

"I heard today that I would resign or whatever. When the times get even tougher, that makes me more that I’ll stay here.

"I feel responsible for the team, I feel responsible for the club and I feel responsible for the relationship with the supporters. That’s why.

"It’s a very a tough time, I’m sure, but I will try to sort it somehow."

Jurgen Klopp was an outspoken critic of a European Super League years before the plan came to fruition. Naturally, he was not consulted before the announcement was made.

A draw against Leeds made Liverpool's pursuit of the top-four place a bit more complicated - but Klopp has no power over whether it actually matters anymore.
