Barca register fifth worst points tally in last stretch of the season

Barcelona seemed to have gained momentum after beating Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey final, but the Blaugrana collapsed after their loss to Granada at the Camp Nou.

Ronald Koeman's side have registered the fifth worst points tally in the last five LaLiga Santander games, along with Athletic.

To put things into context, in the event the season had kicked off with the loss to Granada, Barcelona would sit 16th in the LaLiga Santander table.

After being defeated by the Andalusian side, the Blaugrana beat Valencia, drew against Atletico Madrid and Levante and lost on home soil to Celta Vigo.

This means that they have picked up just five of a possible 15 points, followed by Osasuna with four points, Granada with three and Levante and Real Valladolid with two points each.

Only Celta Vigo have managed to win all of their last five games, while Real Madrid have picked up 11 points and Atletico Madrid have managed one fewer than Los Blancos.

Barcelona are set to face Eibar on Saturday with nothing to play for, but a victory at the Ipurua would at least help them get back to winning ways in their last game of the campaign.
