List Of Top 10 Strikers In 2020/2021 Season Revealed

As the 2020/21 season draws to a close, who are the top ten strikers in the world based on current form?

The top 10 in the world have an instinct of finding the back of the net, they are individuals who possess the power to turn games around in a split second.

No doubt many great centre-forwards have been seen over the years such as Alan Shearer at Newcastle and Thierry Henry at Arsenal, but the bar is always being raised by stars around the world who are chasing the Golden Boot in their leagues.

Here is a top-ten list of the current best as compiled by Daily Star Sport.

2020/21 List Of Top 10 Strikers

10: Ciro Immobile – Lazio

The 2020/21 season has been a poor one by Ciro Immobile’s recent standards.

Immobile ended last campaign with an incredible 36 league goals, which saw him equal the record for goals scored in an Italian top-flight season as well as earning the European Golden Shoes for outscoring every player in the top five leagues.

The 31-year-old will not be winning the Serie A Golden Boot this term but has generated an impressive return in front of goal once again.

9: Andre Silva – Eintracht Frankfurt

A potential surprise inclusion.

Andre Silva has enjoyed two consecutive seasons of the highest quality at Eintracht Frankfurt, replicating the form he displayed in the final third as a Porto player.

Averaging close to a goal per game, the Portuguese forward has acted as Robert Lewandowki’s closest competitor for the Bundesliga’s Golden Boot for much of this campaign.

Still only 25-years-old, Silva is likely to only continue improving as a player.

8: Romelu Lukaku – Inter Milan

Romelu Lukaku has been the driving force behind Inter Milan’s quest for a first Serie A title in 11 years.

The Belgian bagged 23 league goals in his first season in Italy and has surpassed the 20-goal mark once again as he continues to prove his lethal ability.

Lukaku showcased his talent in the Premier League at West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Manchester United and has fully embraced the challenge of operating in a new environment.

7: Karim Benzema – Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid in 2018 marked the end of an era for Los Blancos.

The club’s European dominance was coming to a close, players were leaving: it was time for others in the side to step-up.

And that is exactly what Karim Benzema has done following Ronaldo’s exit, developing into Madrid’s go-to man upfront.

The Frenchman has reached the 25-goal mark in all competitions for the third season running since taking on extra responsibility, with his finishes putting Madrid in contention for success in La Liga and the Champions League.

6: Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane laid to rest claims of being a ‘one season wonder’ a long time ago, having consistently risen to the challenge for Spurs.

The England international has risen up the all-time Premier League scorers list at a rapid rate, courtesy of some frightening performances.

Capable of scoring every kind of goal, Kane’s versatile nature makes him so difficult to defend against.

5: Luis Suarez – Atletico Madrid

Barcelona agreed to let Luis Suarez leave the club for free last summer without kicking up too much of a fuss.

Viewed as a striker in decline, the Uruguayan has emphatically responded to those his questioned his ability by firing Atletico Madrid into title contention.

At 34 years of age, Suarez is showing no signs of being a player who has lost his touch as he continues to mesmerise with his unpredictable nature.

There are not many strikers around with the same qualities of the Atletico forward, who performs like a warrior each time he steps foot on the pitch.

4: Erling Haaland – Borussia Dortmund

A frightening talent.

Erling Haaland emerged as one of Europe’s emerging stars during his time at RB Salzburg and has only gone from strength-to-strength since then.

The Norwegian has become of the most sought-after strikers in the world since signing for Borussia Dortmund, having taken his game to the next level.

Only 20 years of age, Haaland has his whole future ahead of him and could well become of the greats if he continues to replicate his current numbers.

3: Cristiano Ronaldo – Juventus

A player who requires no introduction.

Ronaldo has performed at the highest level for over a decade, featuring as the central figure for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Approaching the end of his glittering career, some predicted a downturn in form for the Portuguese forward at Juventus.

But the 36-year-old has simply carried on doing what he does best: scoring for fun.

Ronaldo has only failed to reach 30 plus goals in all competitions for the Italian giants during his debut campaign, during which he still found the back of the net an impressive 28 times.

2: Kylian Mbappe – PSG

The type of player to leave fans on the edge of their seats every week.

Mbappe has justified the hype that surrounded him following his breakthrough season at Monaco four years ago.

A ruthless finisher in front of goal, the Frenchman has a coolness to his play that makes it challenging to believe he is only 22.

As well as routinely punishing Ligue 1 defences, Mbappe has also terrorised some of Europe’s best backlines in the Champions League.

His speed, clinical nature and dribbling ability ensures that, on his day, he is unplayable.

1: Robert Lewandowski – Bayern Munich

As players enter the latter stages of their playing days, a gradual reduction in contributions is to be expected.

But Robert Lewandowski is an induvial who has bucked that trend in a rather significant manner, reaching a level that has propelled him to the top of this list.

The Polish striker netted 55 times in all competitions on Bayern Munich’s way to achieving the treble last year and is nearing a similar return this term.

Lewandowski has spearheaded Bayern’s resurgence as a club, scoring every type of goal imaginable to achieve this.
