Returning fans hope for a show at Old Trafford

Fans return to Old Trafford for the first time in over a year on Tuesday as Manchester United look to seal the silver medal in the Premier League against a Fulham side on their way back to the Championship.

The Red Devils head into the penultimate round of top-flight fixtures on the back of successive home defeats and, while a top four spot is already secured, they will want to end the season with a flourish as they prepare for their Europa League Final against Villarreal.

Greenwood set for productive evening

Their 4-2 defeat to Liverpool was anything but a morale builder. The absence of Harry Maguire turned the Manchester United defence into nothing short of a shambles and with the same back four set to feature against Fulham a clean sheet is unlikely to be on the cards.

That being said, Mason Greenwood’s cameo from the bench did alter their attacking approach and the youngster is likely to return to the right side of attack on Tuesday. He has scored eight goals in his last 12 appearances and with the Mancunian crowd roaring him on backing him to get on the scoresheet again looks a good value option, and one we’re also backing in our Premier League bet builder tips.

Expect goals on Tuesday

For Scott Parker, the focus will be on trying to end a disappointing season on a high, but so far that’s been a lot easier said than done. They were well beaten at Southampton on Saturday and have picked up just one point from their last eight games, taking their tally to 19 defeats for the season.

The now-unfamiliar prospect of an away game in a stadium with fans means a result on Tuesday is unlikely, but what we can expect is goals. Both the Cottagers and Manchester United have shipped seven goals in their last three games and each of the hosts’ last five outings have featured at least three goals, so backing the overs looks an attractive option here.

As far as the result is concerned, it’s hard to look beyond Manchester United. They will have the home support back and are playing a vastly inferior side to them, so a repeat of Fulham’s 3-1 defeat on Saturday is my choice for a correct score prediction.

Manchester United injuries and team news

Harry Maguire remains the main absentee for Manchester United, with Victor Lindelof set to partner Eric Bailly at the back. Mason Greenwood could return to the side, pushing Marcus Rashford to the left and Paul Pogba to the bench.

Fulham injuries and team news

Fulham’s injury list is unchanged with Tom Cairney, Mario Lemina and Terence Kongolo still sidelined. Josh Maja could return up front in place of Ivan Cavaleiro, with Ademola Lookman also expected back in the starting lineup.
