Sides to serve up cup final thriller at Stade de France

PSG bid to secure their 14th Coupe de France crown and sixth in seven seasons at Stade de France this Wednesday night, but Les Parisiens look sure to be given a real test by a Monaco side who won both Ligue 1 meetings between the pair this term.

Les Monegasques ran out 3-2 victors at Stade Louis II in November before an outstanding 0-2 triumph at Parc des Princes in February, and those results alone mean there are better punting options here than backing Mauricio Pochettino’s charges at a shade of odds-on.

The midweek showpiece could kick start a tremendous few days for the holders who are still in with a chance of securing the Ligue 1 title on Sunday, though overall Les Parisiens haven’t quite been at their brilliant best this season and the likes of Monaco and Lille certainly appear to have closed what was once a pretty sizeable gap in terms of quality and consistency.

PSG’s class and quality still remains though, and their big occasion experience will give them a different kind of edge on Wednesday night. There should be little in it as the three point margin between the teams in Ligue 1 shows and both teams to score looks the best bet.

Many finals can be dull affairs but this one is likely to shine if recent meetings are anything to go by. Both sides have scored in four of the last five encounters which have produced a total of 22 goals, so punters can hopefully look forward to both an entertaining and rewarding 90 minutes in Paris, where we’re forecasting a 2-2 draw and the destination of the cup to be decided via extra time and possibly penalties.
