Raul's Real Madrid Castilla suffer playoff heartbreak vs UD Ibiza

Union Deportiva Ibiza have progressed to the final round of the Segunda Division B playoffs at the expense of Real Madrid Castilla after a 0-0 draw on Sunday.

Raul Gonzalez's side needed a win to progress, having finished in a lower position in the league phase of the campaign.

Castilla performed well and contested the tie, though neither side had any serious chances to break the deadlock.

The best chances came at set pieces, with corners looking most likely to lead to either side breaking the deadlock, but Ibiza held out for a draw.

Even going to extra time, the islanders remained firm with their defensive approach to reach the next round.

Castilla will now go into the Primera Division RFEF for next season, while Ibiza will go through to the final playoff round, with the draw to be made on Monday in Badajoz.

Raul's side included Sergio Arribas and Hugo Duro, both of whom have played for the Real Madrid first team this season.
