Riyad Mahrez states he 'wants to end his career at Manchester City'

Riyad Mahrez admits he is open to the possibility of ending his career at Manchester City after winning his third Premier League title.

Mahrez joined Pep Guardiola's side from Leicester City in the summer of 2018 for £60million and has since flourished as a winger, helping them reclaim the title this season.

The 30-year-old has featured prominently throughout the campaign, making 45 appearances in all competitions.

With just two years to run on his current deal, Mahrez was questioned on whether he seeks a new challenge elsewhere but admitted he was happy at the Etihad Stadium.

'My future? I feel very good at Man City. There is no desire to look elsewhere,' he told RMC via Goal.

'I don't know yet what my situation will be. But I'm happy in City and that's where I want to be.

Asked if he thinks about ending his career at Marseille, he added: 'No, that's not something I tell myself. I want to end my career in England and Manchester City. So that's not something that I am considering.'

Mahrez is now hoping to win his third trophy of the season with the Champions League this month, claiming he is now 'focused' on the final against Chelsea having also lifted the Carabao Cup in April following a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Having won the Premier League in his first season at City as well as at Leicester City in the 2015-16 campaign to make his total of three, the Algerian international was also asked which of them he enjoyed the most.

He added: 'The Leicester title was the very first one I won and with a team not at all expected to achieve that. It will always remain a special memory. Now, with City, it's really not easy to win the league. Every year, the competitions pushes us.

'When Liverpool took our title from us, we weren't happy. And that motivated us. So this title is also very special.'
