Seven people charged over Maradona's death

Seven people have been charged for alleged simple homicide with eventual intent over the death of Diego Armando Maradona.

The accused are all healthcare professionals who assisted Maradona before his death from a heart attack on November 25 last year and will be able to put forward their response from May 31.

At the start of this month, a panel of medical experts concluded that the work of the healthcare professionals who assisted Maradona was "inadequate, deficient and reckless".

Now, these healthcare professionals face a potential prison sentence of between eight and 25 years.
