England isolate Mount and Chilwell as Southgate bans hugs after games

England duo Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell have been isolated from the rest of their teammates after having been in contact with Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

The English Football Association confirmed in a statement that both players have been separated from their teammates and will remain in isolation until June 28, the day England will play their last-16 tie, should they progress from their group.

Chilwell and Mount are Gilmour's teammates at Chelsea and they spoke with the 20-year-old following England's 0-0 with Scotland draw last Friday.

According to the Sun, England boss Gareth Southgate has banned his players from chatting and hugging their club teammates playing for opposition teams after matches in order to avoid problems of this ilk.

In addition, the English FA assured that the entire team, made up of 26 players, have tested negative in the antigen tests carried out, as well as in the PCR tests on Sunday, which have been made mandatory by UEFA before games.

England will face the Czech Republic on Tuesday in the last match of Group D in the battle to see who will claim top spot in the group.
