France still trust their trident of Mbappe, Benzema and Griezmann

After shining bright in the warm-up friendlies against Wales and Bulgaria, France's star-studded attacking trident hasn't yet lived up to the hype at Euro 2020.

The Hungary game in particular cast doubts about the French side, but Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann remain untouchable for Didier Deschamps.

After a long exodus, all eyes are on Benzema. After playing alongside Mbappe with Griezmann behind them against Germany, for the match against Hungary the Real Madrid No.9 played central and the other two were pushed out wide.

Despite not looking totally comfortable in the new setup, Benzema still had a clear chance to score after an exquisite flick by Mbappe.

The draw at the Puskas Arena means the world champions and tournament favourites are yet to seal their passage to the last 16, albeit they did land in the so-called group of death.

There are calls for Deschamps to switch things up, with the expectation being that Portugal will allow France to have the ball in order to avoid their counter-attacking threat. The coach has yet to find an effective Plan B.

If he does make changes, however, it won't involve dropping any of his star attacking trio. Deschamps trusts them and their experience and continues to expect them to show their best.

The head coach has already shown he isn't afraid to make bold decisions, though, as bringing Benzema back into the fold perfectly demonstrates.

It was a big move and Deschamps still believes it will pay off.
