Georginio Wijnaldum 'set to sign for PSG TODAY' on three-year deal

Georginio Wijnaldum will today put the final touches to his big summer move to Paris Saint Germain, according to reports in France.

Everything is sorted for the Dutchman to become the latest arrival in the French capital and join the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, as report L'Equipe.

Wijnaldum has made a last minute change of heart after being on course to become a Barcelona player and link up with his former Holland manager Ronald Koeman at the Nou Camp.

PSG's hijack of the move however has been successful, after the Parisians offered the 30-year-old more lucrative terms and guaranteed a three-year contract.

Wijnaldum will sign the deal but officially become a PSG player at the end of the month, when his current contract in place with Liverpool expires.

The Dutchman was a key part of Jurgen Klopp's set-up, and featured in every Premier League game of the recent campaign.

Wijnaldum waves goodbye to Liverpool after five years at Anfield. The Dutchman has lifted the Premier League and Champions League during his time in Merseyside, playing 237 games for Klopp's side.

Meanwhile, Barca have turned their attentions to capturing Memphis Depay after missing out on the midfielder.

The Dutch international has long been a target of Ronald Koeman's and, like Wijnaldum, his contract has expired this season.

The Catalonians have been busy this transfer window, landing Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia on free transfers from Manchester City, while also bringing Emerson Royal back to the club from Real Betis.

Joan Laporta has offered Koeman a lifeline after a poor first season in charge at the Nou Camp, offering the manager a chance to turn things around in 2021-22.
