Neither Laporte nor Bernardo: Man City unwilling to negotiate swap with Barca

Barcelona want to further strengthen their squad and have set their sights on two Manchester City players in Aymeric Laporte and Bernardo Silva, but the Sky Blues have no intention of negotiate a swap deal with the Blaugrana.

The Catalan side could use players such as Samuel Umtiti, Junior Firpo, Miralem Pjanic, Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite or even Sergi Roberto and Clement Lenglet as makeweights in a potential swap deal for either Bernardo Silva or Laporte, yet Manchester City are not interested in signing any of the aforementioned Barcelona men.

Footballers such as Frenkie de Jong, Pedri or Ansu Fati could potentially attract the Sky Blues' interest, but Barcelona would not put include any of them in a deal.

Barcelona are willing to sign another centre-back, a left-back or even another striker, but their financial struggles mean that they cannot afford to spend big in the market.

To acquire the services of either Laporte or Bernardo Silva, the Blaugrana need to make a huge financial effort and meet Manchester City's demands.

Both players' price tags are set above 60 million euros, as the Sky Blues spent 65m euros to sign the Spain international from Athletic Club and they wouldn't offload the Portuguese for anything less than the aforementioned amount, with both footballers' current deals running until 2025.
