Czech Republic have lost four of their last five away games to nil.

Scotland are unbeaten at home since September 2019.

Czech Republic have lost three of their last five away games by a 1-0 scoreline.

Scotland have won their last three meetings with Czech Republic.

Home sweet home for Tartan Army

Scotland make their long-awaited return to the big stage on Monday and they have a good chance of celebrating the occasion with a potentially crucial three-point haul.

The Tartan Army haven’t appeared in a major tournament since 1998 but they head into Euro 2020 in high spirits. They beat Luxembourg and got a draw with Netherlands in their warm-up friendlies and can look forward to playing two of their three group games at Hampden Park, and that could tip the balance on Monday.

Steve Clarke’s side haven’t lost at home since a 4-0 defeat to Belgium almost two years ago, winning five of their eight games there since. Admittedly their opposition hasn’t been great, but a 1-0 victory over Monday’s opponents Czech Republic in October last year will be a huge confidence booster.

Czechs to struggle at Hampden Park

For Czech Republic, that was one of two defeats against Scotland in the past year. Home and away ties in the Nations League ended in losses to the Group D underdogs, and the Czech’s record on the road will be a real worry as they come into this tournament.

A 4-0 demolition at the hands of Italy in their final warm-up game made it four losses from their last five trips, including that defeat at Hampden Park in October. They have failed to score in all four of these defeats and their only solace came in a 6-2 victory against the lowly Estonia.

Victory certainly seems unlikely for the visitors, although there is one market they could come out on top of. Czech Republic have won the corner count in seven of their last nine competitive games and in both meetings with Scotland, making the corners market look appealing for our bet builder.

Adams to fire Scots to victory

The corner count is likely to be the only thing they win, however. These two sides are fairly similar in terms of quality but the home advantage could sway this in Scotland’s favor. They have won three of their last four at home and with the Czech Republic losing three of their last six away games by a 1-0 scoreline I’m backing Scotland to win and a 1-0 correct score prediction.

If you’re looking to dabble in the anytime goalscorer market you could do a lot worse than backing Che Adams. The Southampton striker has scored in two of Scotland’s last three games after converting to Scotland and is coming off the back of an impressive campaign at club level.
