Marcus Rashford to miss the first two months of the 2021/22 season

After heartbreak with England at Euro 2020, Marcus Rashford received more bad news with cumulative injuries keeping the player on the sidelines for the first two months of the 2021/22 season.

The Manchester United striker has been running on empty for around 18-months, and with the talented forward having never really recovered from a back fracture he suffered in 2019/20.

A shoulder injury was bothering Rashford for much of the second half of the 2021/22 season, and his performances dipped in quality as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continued to play him without much rest.

A lot of this was down to a lack of depth within the United team, but as the BBC reported on Tuesday, that has now caught up with the Premier League club.

It is claimed that Rashford will undergo surgery on the aforementioned shoulder, keeping him out for around 12 weeks. Despite Jadon Sancho's arrival at Old Trafford, this injury will be a headache for Solskjaer, as he is now once again light in a crucial attacking position.

Rashford scored 11 goals in 37 Premier League appearances last season, but failed to make his mark at Euro 2020, playing just 84 minutes over five matches as well as missing a penalty in the final.
