Neymar and Mbappe's fight for their first Balon d'Or

Kylian Mbappe has spoken of his strong relationship with Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar, and he highlighted their shared commitment to helping other lead the club to success and to fulfil their objectives on a personal level.

Whilst Mbappe and Neymar are yet to secure their first Balon d'Or, the Frenchman stated that this will be a consequence of them helping each other bring about success for their club.

"I believe that the most important thing is to help the team and that the team win. That Paris-Saint Germain win," Mbappe said in a joint interview with Neymar given to PSG's official magazine.

"If one day Paris Saint-Germain win and [Neymar] is the best player and he deserves to win the Balon d'Or, he will win it.

"If one day I want it more, I will win it.

"Paris Saint-Germain is the most important thing.

"We wear the same shirt, we are doing well.

"We are friends and I believe that it's easy to play together when you are friends.

Neymar added that the relationship is mutual and that the priority is to work together to lift silverware for the club.

"I feel the same," he said.

"We are two great players who obviously want to be at the top for as long as possible.

"We play for the same team.

"We are on the same side and I always hope that he is doing well, and he feels the same about me.

"What matters is that PSG are champions."

Mbappe's future set to be resolved soon
The 2021/22 season looks set to be Mbappe's final season at Paris Saint-Germain, with Real Madrid preparing to sign him on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.

Upon the French forward's return to PSG for their pre-season preparations, he told Mauricio Pochettino that he would not be signing a new contract this season.
