Sir Alex Ferguson's message to Man Utd over Jadon Sancho transfer

Sir Alex Ferguson has already sent a message to Jadon Sancho ahead of his pending move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils had made the forward their top target going into the summer transfer window and had learnt from their mistakes last year.

On that occasion, Borussia Dortmund refused to sell the England international but United ramped up their efforts early this year.

And they have agreed a £73m fee with the Bundesliga outfit - a dramatic decrease on the £109m they were quoted in 2020.

It is a fine coup for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been desperate to spruce up his attack at Old Trafford with Sancho.

And the former Manchester City starlet has already had a message of support from Sir Alex.

What has prevented a deal from going ahead has been the Euros, which has held up a number of transfers.

One of the matches early on saw England take on Scotland in a battle of the oldest rivals in football, ending in a 0-0 draw.

Ferguson was asked about his thoughts ahead of the game and gave a glowing reference of Sancho.

“I think a lot of Jadon Sancho, with his one-on-one duels, as an assister and scorer, he is extremely dangerous," he told SportBild via Sport Witness.

"He has so much potential, he helps the team. That’s why he’ll be valuable to England over the course of the tournament."

England went on to reach the final of Euro 2020 where Sancho had a penalty saved as the Three Lions lost to Italy.

However, there is a real buzz over the 21-year-old's pending arrival at Old Trafford, with several clubs interested in his services.

But Sancho only had eyes for United in a huge boost to Solskjaer's efforts this summer.

The Norweigan is keen to revitalise the squad in the transfer window and has a number of other targets.

A deal is already being worked on for Raphael Varane from Real Madrid with a growing confidence by the day that a transfer will be agreed.

That would be a massive coup for Solskjaer, who has been desperate for a world-class defender to partner Harry Maguire at the back.
