Tottenham chase Damsgaard and Gil deal to be finalised as Alderweireld moves on

Damsgaard in the crosshairs

Mikkel Damsgaard shone at the European Championships, scoring twice and providing an assist in 5 appearances.

Now, in a search for added creativity, it seems as though the Danish winger is on the wishlist of Tottenham, with Italian media suggesting that a 25 million euro bid is set to be made soon.

It seems unlikely that a bid of that size will be accepted by Sampdoria, however, with Sampdoria’s president saying earlier this summer that the midfielder won’t be for sale “unless there’s a big offer that can excite us”.

25 million euros does not seem likely to provide too much excitement for one of the hottest prospects in serie A.

Bryan Gil on the way

From one young winger to another, and Tottenham seem set to seal the deal on a move for Sevilla youngster Bryan Gil. The 20 year old spent last season on loan at Eibar, where his impressive performances earned him a call up to the Spanish national team, becoming the first player from Eibar to achieve this.

And Tottenham seem to be getting, on the face of it, a great deal for the raw winger. They are set to pay Sevilla 25 million euros and also send Erik Lamela to Spain in exchange for the man described as “the little Cruyff”.

With Heung Min Son also extending his deal in north London, were they able to keep hold of Harry Kane, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side could have one of the most exciting attacking forces in the league.

Toby Alderweireld out

With Tottenham looking to revamp their defence this summer, one player who will not be staying in north London is Toby Alderweireld. The Belgian defender, who joined the club in 2015, has made 236 appearances for the lilywhites, but at 32 years old his best years are now firmly behind him.

As per the Telegraph, Alderweireld is closing in on a move to Qatar side Al-Duhail in a 13 million pound move. With Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier also all free to leave the club, expect significant movement in Tottenham’s defence in the coming weeks, both in and out.
