Aguero misses Gamper Trophy after being advised to rest

The moment it was made public that Lionel Messi was leaving Barcelona, all eyes turned to Sergio Aguero.

Aguero is a close friend of Messi and was signed in large part to convince the Barcelona legend to stay at the club in the coming years.

Conversely, the Messi factor was also a big reason as to why the ex-Manchester City forward moved to the Catalan club, and recent reports have said that he's now looking for a way out, angered by his friend's departure.

Despite all this, Aguero was expected to be at the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Juventus on Sunday evening. Doctors, however, have recommended 'complete rest and that he stays at home', meaning the Argentinian international has missed the game.

He also wasn't present for Messi's farewell press conference this afternoon as he was receiving treatment for a calf problem.
