Alba Speaks on Barca pay cut: 'What hurts me are the lies'

It is no longer news on Social Media that most Barcelona players have refused to take a pay cut to help Barcelona recover from the financial crisis they find themself in. but after their first league games, most players have addressed the issue during their interview with the press.

"No one can doubt my commitment. My will has always been to help the club," Jordi Alba has told the media.

"What hurts me are the lies. Many things are said that are not pleasant, neither for me nor for my family. No one should doubt my commitment. My agents have already talked to the club and we have the agreement done.

"I wasn't asked to cut my salary before the Euros. We kicked the talks off during the tournament and we were never against it," Alba added.

Earlier, it was suggested by some sources that the reason behind Leo Messi's exit was the reluctance of some players to take pay cuts. It was also said that Gerard Pique was the only Barca player to actually agree on it.

However, Pique himself has confirmed that the other 3 captains will soon join him and take salary cuts.
